Based in St Werburghs, the 30,000 sq ft warehouse could best be described as a ‘veritable treasure trove of architectural oddities and original decorative ornament’. The Guardian once named it as one of Europe’s finest shopping emporia.
Over the years Robert Mills Architectural & Decorative Antiques have saved thousands of fabulous items from old mansions, redundant churches, Victorian banks, and other demolished public buildings from all over the British Isles. From panelled rooms and old pub interiors through to magnificent doorways, stained glass windows and other architectural structures, each is carefully dismantled by their own team of craftsmen and then brought back to the warehouse to be catalogued and displayed.
With over 1000 items appearing in the online catalogue, there is plenty to suit everybody’s tastes. Some of the items are of monumental size, but there is also a range of much smaller pieces, including carved details, corbels, capitals, friezes and columns.
Why not take a look at the catalogue or arrange a time to head to the warehouse. Either contact them through this page or head to their website.
Open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Directions to the warehouse can be found here.
