If you have ever dreamed of owning your own racehorse, but been put off by the sheer expense of it, and not really knowing how to get into it, there is a fantastic opportunity called ‘Racing for a Cause’ which allows you to have a share in one, for a monthly, affordable fixed price!
Racing for a Cause was the brainchild of Jenny Godwin and Sharon Blake, who set it up to raise money for two fantastic charities, Dorothy House, in Winsley, and St Peters Hospice in Bristol (who both care for terminally ill cancer patients) whilst at the same time giving people an affordable way to own a racehorse. Jenny is a cancer survivor, so the charities are both close to her heart. Once the training costs of the horse are covered, all monies go to the charities. Some members also chose to donate their winnings to the charities, too. Put simply, the more shareholders there are, the more money can be donated to the two charities.
For just £50 a month, with no hidden extras, you will get entry to the course, owners enclosure and trainers areas when the horse is running, together with the opportunity to visit the racing yard to see your horse in training. There will also be a number of social events throughout the year. This is a great way to own a racehorse and enjoy being part of a sociable group, whilst at the same time, doing your bit for charity.
Smaller shares may also be available. Get in touch with Sharon or Jenny for further details.
