Final preparations are underway for the launch of the new weekly Finzels Reach market, which will specialise in exciting street food.
Opening at lunchtime this Friday (5 May), from 12pm to 2pm, it takes place in Old Temple Street, which is at the heart of the new Finzels Reach development opposite Castle Park.
The market launches with 13 street food traders and live music being provided by the Barry Walsh Band. It was Barry Walsh who was the successful winner of naming the new bridge at Finzels Reach – now called Castle Bridge.
The market will showcase some the South West’s most exciting street food traders, and organisers CASUS Events have seen overwhelming demand from operators wanting to get involved since plans for the market were announced a few weeks ago.
The market is set to be bustling with local traders serving up tantalizing street food including gourmet burgers and pies, mac and cheese, Thai and Indian curry, falafel wraps, sushi and much more. Regular traders include Lovett Pies, Ah Ma Dumplings, Low n Slow, For Mice and Men, Bordeaux Quay Bakery, South Street Kitchen, Jacob’s Finest Falafel and Niang’s Thai Snacks.
The new venture is a collaboration between Cubex, the Bristol-based developers of Finzels Reach and CASUS Events, who will run the market, which will take place every Friday lunchtime.
Sophie Bowden, co-director of CASUS Events, said:
“Bristol’s appetite for diverse and high quality street food continues to grow from strength to strength and we’re delighted to be able to bring a new market to this exciting development, in an area where lunchtime offerings have been limited in the past.”
Gavin Bridge, director of Finzels Reach developers Cubex, added:
“This new market will provide an opportunity for people living and working at Finzels Reach, as well as the surrounding community, to gather and relax with some delicious food before the weekend. It seemed fitting to have Barry and his band celebrate the launch of the market and I’m looking forward to hearing some Bristol songs and maybe the new one he has penned about the bridge.”
